Our Story
We began as a church plant from Antioch, church in the Countryside YMCA. The Y had purchased a building in Maineville and opened a daycare. They asked Antioch if the church could provide a spiritual presence there.
Antioch put out the call for a pastor, and Michael Newman was selected. A member of Antioch, Peter Leeper, agreed to be the first Elder. A group of about 22 founding families began to meet in April 2018, to pray and prepare for the church plant. The Gathering’s first service was September 16, 2018.
We now are committed to the same CITY movement as Antioch – to intentionally partner with the YMCA as a platform for ministry and to plant churches in YMCAs around the world. We want to minister to the people in the Y and exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in and through the YMCA.
